welcome aboard to blackdot solutions

Blackdot Solutions, the UK-based software company transforming the landscape of Internet-based (“open source”) investigations and research, today announces the appointment of Adam de Courcy Ling as its new Chairman. His appointment adds another important member to the senior team following the recent appointment as Chair of its Advisory Board of Lord Evans of Weardale, former Director General of the UK’s security intelligence agency MI5. Blackdot Solutions now has 25+ staff at its headquarters in Cambridge, and has deployed its software globally including the UK, USA, Australia and Asia.

The appointment of Mr de Courcy Ling coincides with news of Blackdot’s plans for a new version of its software, to be launched in 2017. Significant developments around data integration, added functionality, deployability and scalability of Blackdot’s already market-leading product are planned to be included in the new version. More details on this exciting development will be announced in early 2017.

Shaun O’Mahony, Founder and Executive Director at Blackdot Solutions said “We are delighted to welcome Adam to the Board as Chairman. He and Jonathan Evans embody the ambition we have to grow the company into becoming the leading provider of investigations software to the public and private sectors. As a former colleague of one of our directors we were already fortunate to have Adam as a friend of the company. With his appointment as Chairman we will now be looking to Adam’s proven track record as a software investor to help guide us through a sustained expansion of the company and a significant evolution of our product.”

Adam de Courcy Ling said “Many organisations doing professional investigations and research face overload from the exponential increase in online information. Costly, slow and often manual processes have not kept pace with the volume and diversity of information; dedicated tools are lacking. Blackdot has put together a very talented team, with deep domain knowledge, strong technical skills and a powerful, exciting solution, which has quickly gained traction with key customers. I very much look forward to working with the team on the next stage of their impressive growth.”
