Shaun O'Mahony
Founder and Executive Director
Shaun founded Blackdot Solutions with one aim: to deliver game-changing investigations software. Since founding the company in Cambridge in 2011 Shaun has seen it take on investment and new directors, and grow to a team of over 35 staff. Prior to founding Blackdot Shaun worked as a Solutions Architect at Detica (now BAE Systems).
Zac Brech
Executive Director
Zac joined Blackdot Solutions as an investor and Executive Director in 2014. A former investment banker, Zac spent 15 years at Credit Suisse, where he was Managing Director and Head of UK Mergers & Acquisitions. Zac is a qualified chartered accountant and holds an MA in Politics, Philosophy and Economics from Oxford University.
Dom Scarborough
Executive Director
Dom joined Blackdot Solutions as an investor and Executive Director in 2014. Before this, Dom had engaged the company to support his own risk advisory practice, founded after spending the first part of his career in UK government service where he gave distinguished service in several international specialist operational roles. Dom holds an MA in Modern History from Oxford University.
Adam de Courcy Ling
Chairman of the Board
Adam de Courcy Ling was one of the leading M&A bankers in the technology sector in Europe. He headed technology M&A in Europe at Credit Suisse until 2003 and was a partner at Arma Partners until 2010. He was an investor and director in fintech software vendor Multifonds, sold in 2015 to Temenos AG, and lead investor and director in artificial intelligence vendor Expertmaker, sold in 2016 to EBay Inc.
Lord Evans of Weardale
Board Advisor
Lord Evans of Weardale was Director General of MI5 from 2007 to 2013. He spent 33 years with MI5, defending the UK against threats to National Security such as terrorism and cyber-attack. Lord Evans was appointed Knight Commander of the Order of the Bath (KCB) in 2013 and was made a life peer in 2015. As part of our private advisory board, he provides the Blackdot Solutions with strategic assistance and advice.
Paul Ritchie CMG OBE
Board Advisor
Paul spent over 30 years in the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office specialising in intelligence and security. He served overseas in Cyprus, New York, Brussels and Kabul. In the UK he worked in Counter Terrorism and on countering Financial Crime. His most senior positions include Deputy Director for Europe and Director Asia.  He retired from the FCO in March 2017 and joined Blackdot Solutions in May 2017.

We are fortunate to be able to attract some of the best young talent from Cambridge University to join us as account executives and engineers. Sitting above them is our management team, which has a wealth of experience in relevant sectors.

Adam Lawrance-Owen
Head of Product
Adam has been with Blackdot Solutions since its earliest days, and has worked alongside Shaun to grow the company and develop our software ever since. Today he leads Blackdot's Product Team, which interacts with clients to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction and manages the continuing expansion and improvement of the software suite. Adam holds a PhD in Genetics and Experimental Psychology from the University of Cambridge.
Mark Stevens
Head of Client Engagement
Mark leads Blackdot’s Client Engagement Team, advising licence clients on how to use our software to maximise their own investigative capabilities. Prior to joining Blackdot, Mark spent ten years in government service managing investigations across Europe, the Middle East and Asia. Mark and his team support international organisations on cases including fraud, money laundering and insider threat. He handles all new client engagements, and is always delighted to hear from interested parties.
Gemma Rogers
Client Engagement Consultant
Gemma leads our engagements with the Financial Services sector, to which she brings a wealth of experience from her time as Deputy Global Head of the Financial Intelligence Unit at HSBC. Gemma is a champion of an intelligence-led approach to financial crime and her role focuses on how Blackdot can best assist financial services clients with our technology and services. Gemma has a degree in Russian and German, and spent the early part of her career in UK government service. She is happy to respond to enquiries from interested parties.
Tim Rees
Client Engagement and Information Security Manager
Tim leads on information security strategy and implementation. He has a strong background in intelligence and risk consultancy, including several special operations roles, leading projects for multinational entities such as the EU and UN, and most recently addressing cyber risk across key commercial industry, notably the insurance and legal sectors. Tim is based in our London office and welcomes enquiries from interested parties, particularly from the military and commercial sectors.
