About Session 5: Anti-Piracy and Cross-Sector Collaboration

7 November 2024 | 13:30 - 15:30 | TechUK, London

We’re excited to bring OSINT practitioners from across sectors together again for the next meeting of ODIN.

The upcoming session will focus on the use of OSINT in anti-piracy investigations, led by Dom Stonebridge, Investigations and Intelligence Manager at Sky. With several years of experience in both public and private sector investigative roles, Dom has extensive insight into the use of OSINT to counter criminal activity.

This session is a must-join for anyone who wants to learn more about how private sector and law enforcement are working together to fight criminal activity.

About ODIN

Mission

The UK OSINT and Digital Investigations Network (ODIN) is the focal point for networking and knowledge-sharing for UK-based OSINT investigations and intelligence professionals working in public and private sectors alike.

Aim

Our ultimate aim is to improve the application of OSINT to combat some of the most serious threats to public safety and national security.

Government and public sector bodies cannot tackle complex threats such as fraud and economic crime, human trafficking, terrorism, and disinformation alone. That's why ODIN pulls together critical players from across sectors, giving them a forum to discuss the current applications of OSINT.

Deliverables

ODIN provides:

  • Education – Through presentations and interactive roundtable discussions led by members and guests, ODIN attendees will learn about trends, tools, and tricks in OSINT and digital investigations that can be applied to their day-to-day activities.
  • Networking and community – ODIN is a sociable, professional environment where attendees can develop relationships with likeminded professionals.
  • Resources – Eventually, we aim to develop a repository of resources that can be shared among members.

ODIN currently provides quarterly meetings at the offices of techUK (in London). Each event begins with a presentation or a brief panel discussion with members and/or external experts in the field of internet investigations and intelligence operations, and is then be followed by an interactive roundtable discussion. Numbers are limited to about 20 people per session to ensure all attendees have the opportunity to participate directly.

While we don’t expect attendees to share sensitive or confidential information, the sessions will be held under Chatham House Rules to encourage robust and open discussion.
